Cataclysm Classic Alchemy Leveling Guide 1-525

This Cataclysm Classic Alchemy Leveling guide will show you the fastest way to level your Alchemy skill up from 1 to 525 in Cataclysm Classic.

I recommend trying Zygor's 1-85 Leveling Guide if you are still leveling your character or you just started a new alt. The guide will help you to reach level 85 a lot faster.

Approximate Materials Required

Many yellow recipes are used in the guide, which means you won't gain skill points every time. I added 10-20 extra herbs for most of these recipes, but it's still possible you will have to get a few more if you have the worst luck.

Leveling Cataclysm Classic Alchemy

    65x Minor Healing Potion - 65 Peacebloom, 65 Silverleaf

    You'll need these later, so keep all of them.

    The Crystal Vial is sold by Alchemy supply vendors, don't buy them from the Auction House.

Journeyman Alchemy

Visit your trainer and learn Journeyman Alchemy. (Requires character level 10)

Expert Alchemy

Visit your trainer and learn Expert Alchemy. (Requires level 20)

Artisan Alchemy 

Visit your trainer and learn Artisan Alchemy. (Requires level 35)

210 - 300

  • 215-239
    28x Superior Healing Potion - 28 Sungrass, 28 Khadgar's Whisker

    This recipe will be yellow for the last few points, so you might have to make a few extra.

  • 239 - 240
    1x Philosopher's Stone - 4 Iron Bar, 1 Black Vitriol, 4 Purple Lotus, 4 Firebloom

    You will need this for Alchemy transmutes, so keep it. (don't have to equip it)

    The recipe is sold by Alchemist Pestlezugg in Tanaris.

  • 250-270
    22x Elixir of Detect Demon - 44 Gromsblood

    This recipe will be yellow for the last few points, so you might have to make a few extra.

    You can make Superior Mana Potion between 260-270 if you have some Sungrass and Blindweed left.

Master Alchemy (300-350)

Visit your trainer and learn Master Alchemy. (Requires level 50)

300 - 350

  • 335 - 340
    5x Super Healing Potion - 10 Netherbloom, 5 Felweed

    Make the previous recipe five more times if you don't have Netherbloom.

Grand Master Alchemy (350-425)

Visit your trainer and learn Grand Master Alchemy. (Requires level 65)

350 - 400

  • 375 - 380
    5x Pygmy Oil - 5 Pygmy Suckerfish

400 - 425

  • 415 - 425
    This recipe turns green at 422, so you might need to make more than 20.

    20x Runic Mana Potion - 20 Goldclover, 40 Lichbloom

Visit your trainer and learn the new Cataclysm Classic Alchemy skill.

425 - 475

Alchemy Specializations

Once you reach Alchemy skill 475 and level 75, you may begin a quest to learn one of three specializations: Potion Master, Elixir Master, or Transmutation Master.

475 - 525

  • 505-510
    Craft your epic Alchemy trinket now if you need it and skip the recipe below. If not, craft this instead:

    5x Transmute: Dream Emerald - 15x Jasper, 15x Stormvine

Darkmoon Faire Free +5 Profession Skill

Check your Calendar in-game to see if the Darkmoon Faire is open. The event is available every two weeks. It starts on Sunday and lasts for a week.

During the event, you can complete quests for each profession and gain +5 skill points for each. Click here to read more about the quests.
